My parents are our ideals. They inspire us, guide us and even admonish us when necessary. My father is the head of our family He is an educated man. He is working as the Administrative Officer at the university. He is an early riser. He gets up at 5 a. After finishing, his work, he sets out on a morning walk.

He returns home at seven a. He does his daily shaving and then goes through the papers and Journals. He answers the phone calls or rings up to his friends at times. Then he takes his bath and gets ready for the office. At times, he enquires about our Studies and gives some advice how to prepare our lessons scientifically and intelligently. My mother is the centre of love and affection in our family.

She is a nice woman; She is quite active. She gets up very early and performs her daily rites. Then she keeps herself busy with household work. She prepares out breakfast and then our lunch. After father goes to the office and us to our school and college, she does the cleaning work of the house. She has lunch at noon. Then she finds some respite from her household work.

Mother keeps out house neat and clean. She says cleanliness is next to godliness. As we return home after our classes are over, she provides us with some light food. She lets us go play. At times, she plays with my younger brother is our garden.

After we have had our games when we come back, she asks us to clean ourselves and change our dresses. She gives each of us a cup of warm milk. She asks us to say our evening prayer. At times, she sits with us and sings hymns. Then she wants us to go to our study-room and prepare our lessons. In the meantime, father returns from the university, Soon after he gets himself refreshed, the mother provides him with some biscuits and a cup of tea.

Then she starts preparing our evening food. She hardly takes an hour to get everything ready. Then she sits with father and talks about the family affairs. At times, she supervises our studies.

She goes through our notes and offers us guidelines to prepare well for the examination. She often asks us questions on different subjects to keep us alert. This was special because at that time many children were abandoned by their parents. My parents' many sacrifices are admirable. Our journey to America was not the last of our struggles. We were also faced with starting a life in America with nothing.

My parents' fierce determination to give their children a good life was what has taken us where we are today. Of course our beginning years were hard, living on just enough food bought with food stamps, wearing second-hand clothes and playing with toys bought at thrift shops. Almost everything we had was bought at thrift shops, but we were happy because we knew we had a chance in America.

My parents worked very hard to build a better life. I will always remember how my dad used to wake me up in the morning by pulling me down to the end of my bed just enough so that my legs hung over the edge so he could put my shoes on.

Then he would make my cereal and then off we went to the bus stop. I was dropped off at kindergarten and my dad walked on, often in the snow, to English language school while my mom went to work. After a few years my dad went on to get a degree in business and a better job.

My mom got another job and slowly our living status began to rise. We went off welfare, then my parents bought a car and gradually they saved up enough money to buy a house; this was the true sign of our prosperity. We moved out of the apartment, leaving all the hard times behind, and moved into our house, starting our new life.

Today we own three cars, one of which is a Mercedes Benz , and two houses, and we live very comfortably. But my parents' greatest achievement is knowing that they have proven that nothing is impossible. To this day they are looked up to by people they have inspired.

I greatly admire my parents and therefore I would like to give them a loving and heartfelt thank you and a proud tribute for accomplishing their dream, the American dream, giving truth to the phrase "America the beautiful. They help me when I face problems. I also share all the works with them. We have 5 members in our family. One brother, one sister and my father and mother. My Brother is an university student.

He always busy at his study. My sister also an university student, she also busy at his study. My father is a teacher. He always busy in his duty. My mother is housewife. She takes care all the members in our family.
